jUCy Version 0.63 released

E-mail Print PDF

With Version 0.63  there is next to nothing new.

Only  a little changelog. But most important point is that jUCy is now running on java 5 instead of java 6. Which makes it possible now to run it on more systems. MacOSX version was tested and works! jay!

V:0.63

- In the preferences can now be set what should be shown in statusbar.
- Automatic check for updates. (Disable it on Misc Preferencepage if you don't want that)
- jUCy is now backported to java5 so you no longer need java6 to run it -> now possible to run it on Mac
- Fixed Bug in Personal Information preferencepage. Description could not be set.. also spaces were not allowed.

jUCy and MacOSX

E-mail Print PDF

Until today I got no feedback from any Mac user.

Finally today one Mac User with java 6 tried it and reported problems to me back. My thanks goes to dora.

Problem seems to be not only that java 6 is not so easily available on Mac and also not used as default jvm by  jUCy, but that carbon is 32Bit only which gives jUCy a double ko by requiring 32 Bit and 64 Bit at once.

As cocoa port that will work with java 6 on Mac will take more than half a year at least to finish and be available for 64Bit systems I am now looking if I can do some workarounds.Still the problem stays finding something that works (cross compiling, other jvms) is hard without a mac.

jUCy Version 0.62 released

E-mail Print PDF

This is mainly a bugfix for the last version.

So next to no new features. Updates from 0.61 Version should work normally.

 Changelog:

 V:0.62

- Multiple search results of the same file are now shown as one.
- Files are now coloured in Search and FileLists. (red = in Queue , blue = in share, dark blue = multiple users(search)).
- Added function for importing favorites.xml from DC++ and DC++ based clients. Hubs, UserCommands and Directories are imported.
- Fixed Downloads not updating name of downloaded stuff (correct name not shown in Finished Downloads and Transfers view).
- Some little ADC improvements. (Ignoring of malformed commands, GET is less buggy) but still ADC is not in proper shape.

Oh and you might have noticed:

 New Website...

 ** Some addition **

There is some larger bug in this version that is affecting ADC protocol (TTH searches are ignored is the worst effect). As I think only a few are affected by this I just replaced the zip files that contained the bug. If you press update your client will also be corrected.

I am sorry for this inconvenience.

UC Version 0.61 released

E-mail Print PDF
Current Version of UC: 0.61 (beta)

Please be aware update to this version seems not to work properly due to the name change. UC's official name now is jUCy while UC will still be shortform for that. To update just delete old installation and use a new freshly downloaded and unzipped from below. (Settings are kept in your home directory.)

0.61

- ADC Version 1.0 implemented seems to work though needs some more testing. It should work, but primary purpose for now is testing.
- Downloadlimiter implemented (Was in settings present but never implemented) (There is no Uploadlimiter)
- Fixed Bug introduced with 0.60: Hubnames in Search not shown on Windows OS older than Vista
- Fixed Bug: When TTH was on search but Searchtype was not tth but any or video no result was generated
- Added some widgets to the Statusline. Showing some Info like Progress on long running jobs, open hubs, speed and total transferred data
- UPnP is now implemented to help forwarding ports when a NAT is present.
- Restarting UC on update should now work better as the database is now properly closed on shutdown.
- Fixed Problem with Keyboard input in FavHubs (on Nick, Description and Email Navigating with arrows and deleting was impossible)
- Client-Client Connections are no longer directly disconnected after a transfer finishes. Now DC++ segmented downloads work at normal speed from UC.

Still need someone to tell me if the MacOSX version works or not. (you will need a mac with core 2 intel at least as java 6 is only in 64Bit version available on MAC)

Some Old Versions are available here for download if you have problems with the actual one.

Any Questions left?

Ask them in our new Phorum
Please leave some feedback and/or notify me of problems you experience.
