Jucy - File Refresh & OutofMemory Error (3 replies)

Hi,
I have 2 potential bugs.

1. Jucy likes to auto-refresh my shares - I don't like this since my shares are linked AFP and its bogs down my network. I want to disable auto-refresh and only have it do this on my command. I don't see this as an availiable option.
2. Upon performing a refresh, I get "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" a lot. When I get this, I notice I am nowhere near my available memory I have 24g. See here:

i´ve trouble downloading from StrongDc 2.42
Strongdc 2.42 user cannot download from jucy too.
other clients work correct.
error.log shows 0

any idea? Hubside? Strongdc side? jucy?

...just new to hub downloading and this application.

So, I've set up Jucy, connected to a hub, accessed a filelist for a user, downloaded the text file for the files I want, decided I want them, and am now clueless.

I do not have a right-clicking mouse; I d/l'd the textfile by double-clicking it. How do I download the folder I want? (Double-clicking each individual file? Double-clicking the folder?)

I did something (?) because the individual files I want all now all in red, and Jucy is attempting to connect.

I'm also not sure how to remove a file I don't want.

I'm really a quick study (I've been downloading torrents for years) if you could just get me started...

I am running jucy 0.85 and mac 10.6.8. I am having problems with the download queue and with hashing some files.

I keep getting these errors.

Once the files finish "hashing", but they really don't get hashed, the 1105 error keeps coming up periodically. Then jucy keeps trying to rehash them periodically.

This started when my computer froze when I was playing a computer game online. I had to hold down the power button and restart my computer to get it working again. I had jucy minimized while this happened. Then the next time I started jucy the errors started. I can upload files fine, as in people can download my files, but I can't download anyone elses files. They get transferred to the download queue, but then don't download, even though the users have slots available. The download queue also gets erased every time I log out of jucy, as in files that were in the download queue are not in the queue when I log back in.

And i cant get it to stop.

Hello,

I am using the latest version of jucy for mac: v 0.85. When I log in to jucy, i get this error:

FATAL PI.java Line:373 could not create tmp dir: /Volumes/HITACHI/DC++

This directory above is my downloads folder, for finished and unfinished files. When I click the downloads tab under preferences, I get this message:

"The currently displayed page contains invalid values."

I can't see any of the things on the downloads tab under preferences. I am pretty sure the error above is causing this. I know Jucy can access the directory above as it is hashing the files in this directory.

I am not sure how to fix this.

Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request (client sent 127.0.0.1, you have 10.1.35.42). This is usually a client configuration problem

When I want to have the filelist, I have "waiting for connect" for all the user I try either a empty one...
Anyone has a solution?

Just discovered Jucy. Nice to see a new client for Mac. How do I save file lists of other users? (I have unchecked "delete file lists on exit" but they are not being saved unless I just can't find them. Help appreciated.

Can anyone please tell me what this error message means and possibly how do I fix it. It comes up in the system log and it prohibits me from downloading or seeding anything to the hub. Thanks again in advance.

Would it be possible to implement a one slot per IP feature?

Example 1:
I am usually logged in at four hubs. Some of the other members are also logged in at the same four hubs.
Sometimes when I check my transfer list, a single user is using several of my slots, downloading from me on multiple hubs.

Example 2:

Sometimes when I check my transfer list, I notice I am involuntarily downloading from the same user on multiple hubs.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening, ie only allowing one slot per IP and transfer direction (one up, and one down)?

Hey Quicksilver,

I downloaded the program and have unzipped it and dragged it into my applications folder. Now when i click on the Jucy Icon it opens has the logo on the screen for about 5 seconds and then it just closes and no program opens.

I keep getting "the currently displayed page contains invalid values" when I try to click on "downloads" in the prefs. I'm running Snow Leopard, everything was great till I did a OS update about a month or so ago. I updated the OS when the Mac Malware virus was discovered, it was then that I noticed the problem. I tried Quicksilvers remedy via - ~/.UC/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings . I am unable to find this path. I'm currently D/Ling two shows from Echoeshub as I type this, they are downloading fine, but the files are for some reason downloading into my Macs HD and not into my external HDs. I have deleted all paths to my externals and reinstalled the paths again, all of my shared files are visable in the HUB, I just can't seem to get the DL path straightened out, very frustrating. Any help on this would be hugely appreciated, hopefully help in the form of basic bonehead to guide me on this journey

is there a way to edit (hide, unhide) columns (i mean, for ex. nick, share size, description, tag, connection, email for userlist)? would be nice to see such feature. may be on the right click on the head of the table...

in xp i can reduce their size to zero. but in aero interface i can't hide them. :S

press ctrl+h => then connect to hub from the fav list => then press ctrl+w => then try to connect the same hub from the fav once again.

so you have to close then open favorite hubs tab every time you want to connect the hub you've just closed. B)

First of all, AWESOME WORK! i find this client easier to use than shakespeer.

now, there is a bug or maybe i've done something wrong. i can connect to the hub but i get this messages on launch…

WARN ConnectionHandler.java Line:434 error in serversock java.net.SocketException: Permission denied

also, when i try to get file list of a user or add a file from search windows to download queue by either double clicking or by right click and then selecting, nothing happens! simply put, download is not working. please help me out.

error launching Jucy on Mac - can't find prefs to trash (7 replies)

I'm running Jucy 0.85 on my Mac Snow Leopard. It worked fine for the first couple of days, then I started up without my external drive mounted, and the prefs seem to have gotten corrupted - now the download folder cannot be specified, and I get an error as well when launching the app.

I've trashed the entire app folder and re-installed, but the problems persist. Seems that the pref file is still on my Mac but I cannot locate it.

There is another thread here that Quicksilver wrote:
"then its ~/.UC/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings where ~ = your homedirectory"

but I still cannot locate any pref file outside of the Jucy application folder.

Please help!

When Jucy starts up, at least on OS X, I get the rectangular splash loading screen and in the top right corner is the version number. However, the version # is in white and it's over a part of the image that is white, so you can't read it. I would suggest moving the version # to the bottom right or bottom left since those parts are both black.

Hi I've had a problem removing users from my queue. Whenever I press the remove user option when I right click on their name it freezes on me and there is a continuous spinning disc. Is there any other way to remove the user? For some reason it decided to download everything in the user's 2.5 TB queue and I want to stop it somehow. Thanks in Advance.
