clear finished uploads/downloads lists, logfiles

Need an option to clear the finished uploads (and downloads?) list, it gets pretty long after a while.

I just looked and do not see a separate log file for uploads/downloads, maybe that could be implemented too, to have logfiles for these?

Thanks, deleting that file has made Jucy run perfectly, it seemed to start after installing plug ins last time (althought that was roughly when I started hashing to so I'm not sure which caused it). Will try hashing later when I've got the time.

What means?

I have to create a rule on the virtual server to open the doors to the router and manually assign the IP address given by the VPN?
I have to do this manually for every single port?
But the IP address that is assigned to me is dynamic ....
Not be solved ....

If other clients also don'T work I recommend to test by joining an encrypted hub...

i.e. look for one having adcs:// before tis address...
if Jucy works fine then ... well then your vpn provider possibly blocks DC.
Just asking them would be the other alternative!

Jucy's config files can be found in ~/.UC

where ~ is your home folder ...
If you want a totally clean new install you have to delete this folder too!

About the difference in sharesize.... maybe you can find more precisely what fiiles are not shared .. i.e. if there is some directory causing Jucy to hang (maybe there goes the CPU?)

Checking what directories Jucy fails should be the first step debugging as these probelms are possibly related.

I can't answer whether they SHOULD get 4 slots, since that's an opinion, but I can tell you the point of view that my community has... since slot holders generally can keep their slot as long as they have things to request, having 4 slots could mean that someone with a large queue will monopolize the xfers as long as they have content to download. When the download speed isn't that fast, that can mean 1 user is taking up 4 slots for a long period of time - but not intentionally.

It's not uncommon to have that kind of overlap between users and hubs. DC lets people run their own hubs so easily that there seem to often be many hubs, each of which is happy to have as many good users as it can.

I promise you these aren't hypothetical situations, although if you feel it's best to give out any # of slots to a single user... well it's your client, and I can't argue with how you, the author, wants it to work :)

And yeah, I was mostly joking about IPV6 hehe :) That'll be one painful switchover, when and if it ever happens.

Not correctly hashing and CPU usage

Hi there,

Two issues using Jucy v0.85 (I think it's running as 64bit as activity monitor is identifying it as that) running on a 27" 2.66ghz i5 iMac with Snow Leopard with 8gb ram.

The most serious of these is the CPU usage, it never registers below 100% (so presumably one core plus some of another). It doesn't do this on my MBP or on my friends MB, it runs perfectly fine below 10%.

Also it seems to have issue hashing all of my shared folders returning a figure much lower than Shakespeer does and what I know to be the total amount.

Maybe a simple uninstall would fix this? however whenever I try to delete the jucy folder and put in a new one it comes back in the same form and with the same problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

PS I'm not at my iMac now so am not able to upload any of the logs but hopefully I'm just doing something wrong and they won't be necessary!

Are you referring to Jucy settings?
I have done nothing, Jucy immediately recognized the new ip assigned by the vpn and displayed it.
What else do I have to change in the settings of Jucy?

Sorry, idle is translation by google from italian....
if I remember correctly was NOT WORKING

I remember you, as I said before, not even the other DC clients works with the VPN.

Have you checked all your settings? Did you bind Jucy to another network address?

UDP IDLE should btw not be possible... NOT WORKING or UNKNOWN maybe.. but IDLE is not possible

Are you sure ip was detected correctly?

UDP and TCP is not working based on your description.

Right click on a user and select "Connection Debugger" (Connection Debugger plugin needs to be installed)

On next connection to that user (or more precise his IP) you can see all commands exchanged.

What kind of VPN are you using?

Is it a real VPN or some VPN like solution ... i.e. VPN over socks ..

Have you tried other UDP traffic?

I have installed a VPN and I discovered that Jucy not work properly with this.

Jucy correctly detect the new address, but the green dot turn red and show "UDP IDLE".

The searches do not work, uploads are still, but other users see me as "ACTIVE" but can not download from my client.
I tried to do a test with other clients, Apex Strong and DC.

Same problem, do not work, even if correctly sets for the new resource.
Other clients on other networks such as Shareaza, Frostwire etc ... they work perfectly, identified the new network and follow the new address automatically without problems.

How can I do? I would be very sorry to lose the network DC ...:(

sure... if you add it to the user connection ... and download something from the one added ... then you will get it with the $Lock:

i.e. for Jucy:

ok, i understand your reasons, then it will be possible to have a window with will be showing protocol commands? (messages from hub to user client, client to client) i think its called cmdlog..

these detections have never worked to well...
AML is abandoned afaik and abandoned detection is worthless.

Currently its hard for me to find the time to code an operator plugin.
This is a running project still, but I don't have too much time for that. / Operator features are planned... but MyINFO detection is not among these...

that was bad idea, user blockin', problem users are sorted by hub owners/admins/operators, on any hub is possible to report them.
for example on my hub are clients with this requested feature banned. i want to have Jucy client in my favorites clients B)
if your hubs are not under Admin's control, leave them B)-

DC hubs are a political thing... lobby a bit for some more users getting op-ed.

This is not a problem solved by technology.. rather point the problem out for the ops and tell them that you don't like the current state of affairs.

Awright, I'll just firewall the twits :)

We have a private hub with ops who are pretty much absent all the time, and we get newbies queue'ing 10000 boots at a time, which is not only inconsiderate, it violates the hub's terms of use, but, since we can't get the ops to help we have to use whatever other facilities we have as users (some client programs can block users, afaik.)

With vm I mean soemthing like vmware or virtualbox.
Something that runs a supported os running a java virtual machine.

Error above seems just like you ran the Linux executable on a non linux system..

no ... Definately not going to happen.

And I don't know a single client worth mentioning that allows blocking users!

I know too many users that would block people because they think the other is "bad" or doesn't deserve that slot.
Talk to the ops ... get the user kicked for his/her offense,
but otherwise anyone in a hub with you is acceptable for getting a slot.
